The location was peaceful as for me, close to Hexham, pubs, a cafe, a shop, and a Dalek and a shop. It also was in the middle of the city...

I came here for 1 night and had an enjoyable stay. Everything was perfectly fine and rooms were cosy and reasonably spacious. Truly enjoyed central heating, an iron and ironing board, and coffee/tea makers in the room. The beds with electric blankets and down pillows were comfy. The location was perfect, in the middle of the city

After a day of hiking and cycling, we were thrilled to come back to the cozy and warm room. The beds were super comfy and even had electric blankets. And let's not forget the breakfast feast - it was like a food heaven! The gardens were also beautiful, perfect for a stroll with the friendly cats. Highly recommended for young adventurers!
If there was one thing we could ask for, it would be more late-night party options for young people. But overall, our stay was incredible!

Interesting house with nice garden in a good location, although slightly far from main road. Cats were a lovely surprise and host was welcoming. Room had great view of horses. Breakfast was delicious - hearty portion and well cooked.

The location was quiet and perfect as it was close to local pubs, a shop, and the river. We enjoyed a lovely twin room with a view overlooking the garden. - St Cuthbert's Church is just a short 10-15 minute walk from the venue.

My stay at Thornley House was fantastic! The room was spacious and comfortable, with a stunning view of the surrounding countryside. The breakfast was delicious and well-cooked, with plenty of options to choose from. The owner and her helper were both delightful and made me feel right at home. The garden was beautiful and added to the peaceful atmosphere of the B&B. I had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend Thornley House for a relaxing getaway.

I absolutely adored the charming decoration of Thornley House. Every room was filled with beautiful ceramics and unique trinkets from Eileen's travels around the world. It felt like stepping into a treasure trove of memories. The general areas of the hotel were also lovely, especially the shared lounge area where guests could relax and socialize. As a senior woman, I appreciated the hotel's accessibility, with wide corridors and handrails for support, ensuring a comfortable stay for people of all ages.
The only thing I would have asked for to make it even better for senior vacationers is a dedicated staff member to assist with mobility and luggage. The children working there were friendly, but having someone specifically trained to cater to the needs of senior guests would have added an extra level of comfort and convenience.
